What could your organization possibly learn from a drummer?
BOOM has created a way to convey the fun and positive lessons of playing music together to enable people to work together better. Musicians, drummers in particular, come to the table with a “let’s make something happen together attitude”. We are used to finding our way through complex interactions using constant assessment achieved through listening. We know how to lead and know how to follow when the time is right. We know how to anticipate what is going to happen next. We must clearly communicate our ideas or the whole tune goes in the ditch. Together with other players, we follow a common goal yet use our creativity to make the most out the moment and influence the future. Boom draws on these skills to create relevant programs and experiences for your organization. Time and time again leaders who have used BOOM have realized how our “drummer skills” can really make a difference in their organization.
Do you think you are “rhythmically challenged”…?
Well, probably not. Unless you live under a rock and never been exposed to music in your life, it is very unlikely. You might not be a good dancer, and you could be tone deaf and colour blind (my wife says I am. Yes, in both areas!) but you probably have some rhythm. The great thing about playing a drum is that NO ONE CAN FAIL. It is not about how many notes you play but where you put the one you can play!

The theme of our meeting this year was "Performing in Rhythm". Your event was not only a fun team building activity, but also proved that each and every one of us has a talent to explore... we left knowing that our team can perform together beautifully, no matter how varied our talents and experience! Empowered and Recharged
At Banyan Work Health Solutions Inc. we were “empowered” and “recharged” as a Leadership Team after participating in Booms Corporate Team Build, which was uniquely customized to our needs as an organization.
As a corporation we have engaged in many team building exercises in the past, but by far Boom exceeded our expectations, not only reminding us how to work in tandem with each other, but also demonstrating through rhythm how to recognize and respect the integral & unique piece that each team member brings.
All of this was accomplished by Paul in such a subtle way that it was not until group reflection afterwards that the teachings were recognized, as we were having too much fun in the moment to stop and pause…

Master the Rhythm of Growth
The theme of our conference was "Master the Rhythm of Growth". Our Market and Product Development team spent two days learning, planning and strategizing for the future. "Boom" was the glue and "pause" in our planning that bonded attendees.
The experience involved all in drumming, self expression, listening and performing together. Paul Houle and his team did a great job of leading us through exercises.
We felt the power of one person's expression as well as the collective voice. We discovered synergies in rhythm. Small changes in our own performance influenced the performance of others.
The response to "Boom" was overwhelmingly positive. Our teams came back from the Conference re-energized and eager to tackle the challenges that lay ahead.
